Next Step in Developing Plan to Be More Trauma Informed in Lincoln County

Over 70 people representing agencies and organizations throughout Lincoln County participated last August in the “Building a Community of Hope and Resiliency” meetings.  During these meetings, participants developed a better understanding of trauma informed care, identified resources available in Lincoln County to provide care in a more trauma aware manner, prioritized specific opportunities to provide trauma informed care, and developed a plan to implement the prioritized trauma informed care opportunities.  In the months since, the Trauma Informed Care (TIC) Planning Team has been reviewing the results from these meetings and discussing the best ways to proceed.  The team has prepared a summary report of what has transpired to date that can be found below.

We are inviting individuals to join us for a meeting to begin the next steps on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.  This meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Upper Level Assembly Room at the Lincoln County Service Center at 801 N Sales Street in Merrill.  During this meeting, we will review progress to date, break into groups around our five priority action item teams to develop a work plan for achieving that priority, and then come back as a large group to share.

We ask that you pre-register at by Tuesday, March 3rd.   When you register, we are asking you to select your first and second choice from the five action items that you would be interested in working on.  We are hoping to create a team to work on each action item.  However, if no one steps forward to work on a specific action item, the item will be put on hold until people are willing to serve or until additional resources are acquired that make work on the action item feasible.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the TIC Planning Team members (Shelley Hersil at , Renee Krueger at or Debbie Moellendorf at   Please feel free to share this invite with others who may be interested in attending.
